Accounted 2.0 gives you the ability to specify any account as a Tax account. This means you can convert an Expense account into a Tax account to easily track taxes paid on items using split transactions.

Any Account type can be converted into a Tax Account, giving you the capability to track taxes however you'd like. If your taxes are collected into an Account and then paid out later and you'd like to maintain a balance, you can simply use a Bank account as the type for your tax account.

If you have been using this method to track taxes in Accounted 1.x, you can easily convert an Account to a Tax Account by editing the account and checking the "Is Tax Account" checkbox in the account editing window.
